Let’s talk about persuasion and ‘imagine’
We are all really good at using our imagination. From the early imaginings of our childhood we grow into using the full power of our adult imagination to create, invent and guide our choices in life.
In fact, the way our brains experience something we are imagining is very similar to the way our brains experience that same something if it happens in real life.
And, our imagination is not limited to just seeing mental images. We can vividly imagine something that combines all of our senses — sight, sound, taste, touch, smell — and our emotions.
So, the next time you are trying to persuade a group of listeners to do something, be something or act in a certain way. Use the persuasive power of their own imaginations to help them see, hear, feel, taste and smell what that would be like.
Then you can Speak Your Mind with confidence and clarity.
